Zagara

Our home holidays is located in the very heart of Ortigia Island, the old town of Syracuse and Unesco world heritage site, in historical building of the ‘800, recently restored and returned to all its original splendour. The location is impressive: a few steps from the sea and Aretusa Spring , half way between the Cathedral and Maniace Castle. It's a two-room apartment with small loft, located in an intermediate level between the first and second floor of our building, easily accessible also by the modern elevator. It’s called Zagara ("Orange Blossom") because from its small balcony you can take in the lovely smell of the magnificent orange tree in the courtyard during the spring and oranges are within reach in winter! It 'consists of a living and sleeping areas. The living area featured by wooden beams and terracotta floors, consists of a sitting room with pull out coach (it can be set for a double-bed or two single beds-twins) and a very well equipped kitchen. The room is well lit up by a typical "Juliette" balcony from where you can enjoy a pleasant view of the rooftops of Ortigia and the internal courtyard below. The sleeping area includes bedroom well lit up as well by another Juliette balcony and a small loft with two additional beds. You can access there by the living room, through a characteristic wooden and wrought iron staircase. The typical pitched roof with wooden beams make this location particularly popular for our youngest guests. The large bathroom with shower completes the apartment. It is possible to reach it only passing by the bedroom. It can accommodate up to 6 people. Suggested to families with children, not comfotable for 6 adults.
